METLEN and the Tsakos Group have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly develop, construct, operate, and commercially manage a large hybrid power generation project in Greece. The collaboration covers energy generation, integrated storage, energy management, and commercial operations. The project will be implemented through a special purpose vehicle structured as a joint venture (JV), with the Tsakos Group holding a 60 per cent stake and METLEN holding 40 per cent.

Under the agreement, the JV will develop a renewable energy project in Central Greece comprising a 251.9 MW solar plant combined with a 375 MWh  battery energy storage system (BESS). The investment is scheduled to begin implementation in 2026. The completion of the project is targeted for early 2028. Furthermore, METLEN’s role in the project includes equity participation, responsibility for construction activities, and the integration of commercial operations into its energy management platform.

In December 2025, METLEN completed the financial closing of the sale of a major portion of its Chilean renewable energy portfolio. The transaction covers four operational solar projects with a combined capacity of 588 MW, supported by co-located BESS totalling 1,610 MWh. The transaction, valued at $865 million, has been signed with GAC RS Chile II SpA, a Glenfarne Group LLC subsidiary.
