Neoenergia, the Brazilian subsidiary of Iberdrola, has sold the Baixo Iguaçu hydroelectric power plant to EDF and STOA. Iberdrola through Neoenergia controlled 70 per cent of the hydroelectric power plant which is located in Paraná.
The plant has an installed capacity of 350 MW and 172 MWm of assured energy. Furthermore, the operation is valued at €240 million. Additionally, this transaction also reinforces Iberdrola’s asset rotation strategy.
Neoenergia is a part of the Spanish group Iberdrola. It is present in all phases of the electrical process such as distribution, transportation, generation of both conventional and renewable energy, and its commercialisation. The company’s portfolio includes 5 hydroelectric power plants, 44 wind farms and 2 solar power plants.
