Octopus Energy Group and DTEK have launched the RISE initiative, which stands for Resilient Independent Solar Energy. The initiative will deliver rooftop solar and battery storage systems to Ukrainian businesses and public sector institutions. It aims to raise €100 million to finance 100 on-site energy projects over the next three years.
The RISE initiative will aid in stabilising the grid, lower electricity costs for customers, and protect them against outages and price hikes. The solar and battery systems will be installed directly on customer premises by D.Solutions. Additionally, the systems will use the Kraken operating system.
Earlier in May 2025, Octopus Energy Generation, the renewables arm of Octopus Energy Group, acquired Hamburg-based green energy developer MN projects GmbH, adding a 2 GW pipeline of solar and battery storage projects in Germany to its portfolio.
