Opdenergy has secured $227 million in financing for its operational renewable energy portfolio in Chile. The financing was provided by SMBC, BNP Paribas and ICO and is backed by long-term DISCO and private power purchase agreements with investment-grade off-takers, comprising the 104 MWp Sol de Los Andes solar plant and 90 MW/513 MWh Sol de Los Andes BESS, both in the Atacame region. The projects also include the 50 MW La Estrella wind farm in the O’Higgins region, and a 17 MW solar portfolio in the Valparaiso region.
Opdenergy commenced operations in Chile in 2014 and currently operates 371 MW in Chile. It also plans to commence construction of an additional 748 MW of renewable and BESS projects over the next 12 months including the Dañicalqui 95 MW and Vientos del Lago 132 MW Wind farms in the Ñuble and Los Lagos regions in the south of the country, Don Carlos 235 MW Solar plant in the Atacama Region, and Don Carlos BESS 196 MW/1.2 GWh and Alcones BESS 90 MW/0.5 GWh storage projects in the Atacama and O’Higgins regions.
In July 2025, Opdenergy acquired a portfolio of operational wind assets from Acciona Energía. The portfolio consists of 13 wind farms, and the assets have a total capacity of 440 MW. The wind farms are situated in the regions of Albacete, Cádiz, Cuenca, Lleida, Valencia, and Zamora. Valued at over €500 million, the transaction is anticipated to close by the year’s end, subject to necessary regulatory approvals.
