Pattern Energy has inked a 30-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Hydro-Québec for its 150 MW Broughton Wind project. The project is located in the municipalities of Saint-Pierre-de-Broughton, Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus and Thetford Mines in Québec.
Furthermore, the project is a joint venture equally owned by Pattern Energy and a group of community and First Nations partners, including the MRC des Appalaches, MRC de l’Érable, the Conseil des Abenakis d’Odanak, and the Conseil des Abenakis de Wolinak.
Additionally, the project will provide enough renewable electricity to power more than 25,000 homes in Québec annually and represents an investment of around $363.69 million.
It will provide up to 200 jobs during construction. Once operational, 10 full-time employees will operate and oversee the project. The project is expected to commence construction in 2028 and begin commercial operation in 2029.
