Plenitude, an Eni subsidiary, has engaged in a strategic partnership with BlueFloat Energy and Sener Renewable Investments to construct offshore wind projects in Spain. The agreement expands on the joint venture (JV) that Sener Renewable Investments and BlueFloat formed in 2020 to construct 1.25 GW of floating offshore wind projects. Parque Nordés in Galicia, Parc Tramuntana in Catalonia, and Parque Tarahal in the Canary Islands are some of the projects in the consortium’s portfolio.

With a focus on social and environmental considerations in project design and integration with local communities, Plenitude’s participation aligns with BlueFloat Energy and Sener Renewable Investments’ development approach. In Spain, Plenitude is in charge of 430 MW of operational solar photovoltaic and onshore wind power. There are also plans to develop 2 GW and build another 1 GW of projects. In addition, it provides electricity and energy services to 300,000 consumers and manages a network of charging points for electric vehicles.

In February 2023, Plenitude began operations at the Golden Buckle Solar Project in Brazoria County, Texas. Built on 600 acres of land, the 263 MW solar facility has the ability to produce between 400 and 500 GWh of clean energy annually.

Further, in December 2023, BlueFloat Energy and Origin Energy announced a partnership and applied for a feasibility licence to develop the Eastern Rise Offshore Wind Project in the Hunter offshore wind zone, Australia. The proposed project is located off the Hunter-Port Stephens coast and has the capacity to generate 1.725 GW of renewable electricity, which is equivalent to powering approximately 825,000 homes.
