Power2X has acquired HyCC, a Netherlands-based developer of large-scale green hydrogen projects, to strengthen its position in clean molecule development and industrial decarbonisation. HyCC brings a portfolio of hydrogen and clean molecule projects across key industrial hubs in the Netherlands and Germany, including Amsterdam, Delfzijl, and Rotterdam. Additionally, integrating these assets is expected to enhance scale and operational efficiencies.
The transaction expands Power2X’s focus on delivering clean fuels and feedstocks for industrial applications in the Netherlands and Germany. The inclusion of HyCC’s expertise and industrial experience is anticipated to support the continued advancement and execution of projects within Power2X’s broader portfolio. The acquisition reflects ongoing consolidation in the clean molecules sector as projects transition from early development to large-scale deployment.
In October 2025, Power2X, along with Magnon, ErasmoP2X, announced jointly developing an e-methanol production project at Magnon’s renewable energy complex in Spain. The initiative aims to produce 200,000 tonnes of e-methanol annually using biogenic carbon dioxide supplied by Magnon, integrated with its existing biomass-based renewable energy plant. The project will utilise green hydrogen generated by ErasmoP2X and Power2X.
