Qualitas Energy has signed an agreement with ACL Energy to finance the construction of a 211 MW battery energy storage (BESS) portfolio in Italy. The portfolio consists of two BESS projects located in Lombardy and Apulia, featuring 4-hour and 8-hour storage systems. Both projects have secured long-term revenue streams through 15-year contracts awarded under Italy’s Capacity Market and MACSE storage auctions.
Qualitas Energy will finance the minority shareholder equity contribution, while ACL Energy and its industrial partner remain majority owners in the projects. The funding will support the construction, commissioning, and operation of the projects. The investment will be made through the Qualitas Energy Credit Fund, part of a credit strategy that has secured more than €370 million in commitments.
In April 2026, Qualitas Energy secured 126 MW across three wind projects in February 2026 onshore wind auctions conducted by the German Federal Network Agency. The projects, located in Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Baden-Württemberg, involve the development of 18 turbines. The projects will power around 84,000 households once they commence operations.
