Recurrent Energy, subsidiary of Canadian Solar, has inaugurated the Rey Solar solar project in Carmona, Spain. The project has an installed capacity of more than 420 MWp. The project started commercial operations in December 2025. The project is expected to generate approximately 916,000 MWh of clean electricity, sufficient to power over 275,000 homes annually. The project is also expected to avoid around 184,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

In March 2026, Recurrent Energy sold the 42.5 MWp Higher Witheven solar project in Launceston, Cornwall. The project secured a contract for difference (CfD) under the UK Government’s Allocation Round 7 (AR7) auction. The project is expected to be completed and connected to the grid in the fourth quarter of 2027, generating over 46,000 MWh of clean electricity annually, enough to power more than 17,000 homes.

In February 2026, Recurrent Energy signed a 10-year power purchase agreement with an Italian fashion group for the output of its 8.05 MWp Pozzolo solar project in Piedmont, Italy. The agreement covers 80 percent of the plant’s electricity generation and associated Guarantees of Origin. The facility will supply approximately 10,864 MWh of clean energy annually, avoiding more than 2,500 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
