The objective of the National Renewable Energy Supply Chain Action Plan (NRESCAP or Action Plan) is to reduce supply chain risks and address vulnerabilities for priority technologies (onshore wind, solar photovoltaics, and batteries) to ensure delivery of the critical infrastructure needed to achieve the renewable energy target of 82 percent by 2030.

Since the inception of NRESCAP as a project of the National Energy Transformation Partnership, following the Energy and Climate Ministerial Meeting (ECMC) at the end of 2022, the Commonwealth, states and territories have worked collaboratively to develop eight Action Areas and potential policy levers to alleviate supply chain risks

Across governments, both medium and long-term government initiatives have been announced which shift the dial on securing the renewable energy infrastructure required to achieve the energy transition and pave the way for Australia’s renewable energy superpower ambitions. These initiatives align with one or multiple NRESCAP Action Areas.
