The IRENA Coalition for Action hosted a preliminary findings event for its forthcoming report REPowering for Tripling: Advancing Wind Energy, produced through a dedicated Task Force bringing together leading wind energy organisations including Acciona, Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), WindEurope, SSE Renewables, Siemens Gamesa, Canadian Renewable Energy Association, and the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE, India).

With approximately 178 GW of onshore wind capacity set to enter the prime repowering window by 2030, the urgency to act has never been greater. This report sets out policy recommendations on the regulatory, grid, and economic conditions required to unlock large-scale wind repowering investment and accelerate delivery toward the global tripling target.

This event was an opportunity to engage directly with the preliminary findings, and to hear from leading voices across the global wind sector shaping the next decade of wind energy.
