RWE has acquired 599 MW of solar and energy storage projects from Galehead Development. The recently completed acquisitions has two projects in the development-stage located within PacifiCorp’s operating territory in the Pacific Northwest and a mid-stage development asset in northeastern New York:
Cedar Ridge solar project in Blaine County, Idaho, with a capacity of 300 MWac is joined with a 150 MW (600 MWh) energy storage system. This combined solar and storage project is planned to address the increasing energy demands and support the regional grid in alignment with PacifiCorp’s resource planning predictions.
Remington is a standalone BESS in Marion County, Oregon, with a capacity of 199 MW and 796 MWh over 4 hours. The project will offer flexible, clean energy to meet regional demand changes and is designed to minimise its land use impact. Furthermore, Champlain is a 100 MWac solar PV project situated in Washington County, New York. Its strategic location will help address the increasing demand in this part of the NYISO market.
