Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE), Eletrobras, and EnerTech have inked a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) to supply 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually to Germany, starting in 2030. The partnership will establish a green hydrogen production facility in Brazil, integrated with the power grid and utilising electricity sourced from hydropower and other renewable energy options.

SEFE will market the green molecules in Europe and invest in hydrogen and ammonia production facilities. It will oversee the shipment of green ammonia to Germany and distribute green hydrogen to its wide network of European customers.  This partnership will facilitate the supply of substantial green hydrogen from South America to Germany and Europe.

In October 2024, SEFE, through its subsidiary WINGAS GmbH, partnered with Gen2 Energy to secure a green hydrogen supply deal for Germany. The two companies finalised a Transaction Term Sheet, outlining the supply of green hydrogen from Gen2 Energy’s proposed 100 MW production plant in Norway.
