Siemens Gamesa has announced that it will supply the Serbian state utility EPS with a 66 MW wind power project. Siemens Gamesa will supply 20 SG 3.3-132 turbines to the Kostolac wind project in Serbia, which will be the company’s first in the country. They will be fully installed in 2024. These turbines have a rated power of up to 3.65 MW.
The contract comprises the turnkey construction of the wind farm, including the civil and electrical balance of the plant, as well as the substation. Reportedly, this is the first wind project in Serbia to be financed by the German development bank KfW, and the fourth wind park in the region to be constructed by Siemens Gamesa. At present, Serbia has around 400 MW of installed wind capacity.
Earlier this month, Siemens Energy launched a 4.05 billion euro bid for a minority stake in Siemens Gamesa. By doing this, Siemens Energy aims to resolve a complicated ownership structure that has weighed on its shares. The bid of 18.05 euros per share represents a 27.7 per cent premium over Siemens Gamesa’s last unaffected closing share price of 14.13 euros on May 17, 2022, and a 7.8 per cent premium over the closing price of May 20, 2022.
