The presentation “US DOE Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Perspectives” was given by Dr. Sunita Satyapal, Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office Director and Hydrogen Program Coordinator, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) on December 1, 2021 at the Green Hydrogen Coalition Fall Meeting. It highlights the priorities, opportunities, market potential and ongoing programs in the hydrogen space in United States.

According to the presentation, the key priorities are: 1) Low cost, clean hydrogen 2) Low cost, efficient, safe hydrogen delivery and storage 3) Enable end use applications at scale for impact. Further, the strategy and next steps for the DOE include acceleration of R&D activities to reduce cost, de-risking of demonstration projects and enabling deployments, strategic scale up through clusters and adequate focus on the key enablers like workforce development, safety, codes, standards and others.
