Vårgrønn, a joint venture between Plenitude (Eni) and HitecVision, and Flotation Energy have inked exclusivity agreements for two floating offshore wind developments with an overall power generation capacity up to 1.9 GW. The agreements were signed under Crown Estate Scotland’s Innovation and Targeted Oil and Gas leasing round.

Once completed, the two wind farms, Green Volt and Cenos, will provide oil and gas platforms with renewable energy in an effort to lower the carbon emissions from the infrastructure they provide. Reportedly, Crown Estate Scotland granted exclusivity to the two projects in March 2023. The power generated by both projects will also be delivered to the UK grid. Combined, the two wind farms are estimated to create 8,000 jobs during the building phase. During operations, several more will be created. Collectively, they will produce 7.5 TWh of clean energy a year.

In February 2023, Plenitude begun operations at the Golden Buckle Solar Project in Brazoria County, Texas. Built on 600 acres of land, the 263 MW solar facility has the ability to produce between 400 and 500 GWh of clean energy annually. Under a long-term power purchase agreement, Target would purchase the majority of the green electricity produced by the solar farm.
