Vestas, a Danish wind turbine manufacturer, has been awarded the order to supply turbines with a total capacity of 243 MW from RWE for an undisclosed project in the US. Reportedly, Vestas will provide 54 V163-4.5 MW wind turbines, each of which will be mounted on a tower with a hub height of 98 metres.

Furthermore, their rotor will be 163 metres in diameter, with each blade having a maximum length of 80 metres. According to a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 agreement, the business will supply, deliver, commission, and then service the turbines. Delivery will start in 2024’s second quarter, while commissioning will begin in the following quarter.

In June 2023, Vestas awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction contract for two wind farms in Finland that Neoen and Prokon will jointly own. The combined output of the Lumivaara and Storbötet wind farms was 161 MW. The 17 Vestas V162-6.2 MW turbines that make up the 105 MW Storbötet wind farm were situated in the municipality of Uusikaarlepyy.
