La Société de projet BVH1, s.e.n.c., a corporation jointly created by Boralex Inc., Énergir Développement Inc., and Hydro-Québec, has secured $960 million financing for the 400 MW Des Neiges – Secteur sud wind power project. The project is currently under construction on the private lands of Seigneurie de Beaupré.
The financing for the wind project consists of a $733 million construction loan. This will convert to a term loan upon commencement of electricity deliveries, which are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. Furthermore, the financing also encompasses a $170 million bridge loan and a $57 million guarantees facility. Desjardins Group served as the administrative agent for this financing.
Additionally, once the project is operational, its 57 wind turbines are expected to generate 1.2 TWh annually. It will boost Côte-de-Beaupré’s economic development and contribute to Québec’s economic and climate resilience.
