Throughout 2021, renewable energy has shown itself to be resilient in its drive towards aiding economic recovery. Continuing the trend of 2020, solar and wind power are leading that push towards renewable energy growth. The widening role of renewable energy is further extended to the utilisation of hydropower, geothermal and biomass as renewable alternatives to baseload power. In addition to the decarbonisation of the power sector, ASEAN sees electric vehicles (EVs) and vehicles that use biofuels as the best means to realise low-carbon transportation.
