California Energy & Power (CE&P), a US vertical axis wind turbines (VAWT) wind turbine company, has secured its first commercial purchase orders from the Hansei Corporation, an engineering, procurement, and construction company in the Philippines. Initial turbines will be deployed in strategic locations in the Philippines, with plans to deploy the company’s CALI series VAWTs along a newly built expressway project to provide electricity for lighting systems, signaling/protection, and electronic vehicle charging stations.

Lightsource BP to install 467 MW of solar capacity in Brazil

Lightsource BP has announced its plans to develop 467 MW of solar photovoltaic projects in Brazil’s Ceara state. The company has met with the state’s economic development and labour secretary to finalise the project which will be developed with an investment of $261.3 million. Under the plan, Lightsource BP will develop two solar plants in the countryside of the state. This includes a 202 MW plant in Milagres and a 265 MW solar farm in Ico.

Avangrid Renewables commissions 155 MW wind farm in South Dakota

Avangrid Renewables announced the commissioning of its 154.8 MW Tatanka Ridge Wind Farm. The project consists of 56 wind turbines and is located in Deuel County, S.D., northeast of Brookings. Further, the wind farm is owned by Tatanka Ridge Wind, LLC, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables and WEC Energy Group. The wind farm has penned a power purchase agreement with the Dairyland Power Cooperative for 51.6 MW of its capacity.

REC Solar designed and built the solar project, and Duke Energy Renewables provided Firestone Walker financing through a 25-year power purchase agreement.
