Construction begins at Brunei’s flagship solar project

Brunei has commenced construction of a 30 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Kampong Belimbing. The project is being developed by Seri Suria Power (B) Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Serikandi Oilfield Services Sdn Bhd, Khazanah Satu Sdn Bhd, and Atlantic Blue Sdn Bhd. It will be located on a remediated landfill site covering 32.29 hectares and is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2026.

Amogy has partnered with GreenHarvest for the deployment of an ammonia-to-power system in Taiwan. Under this partnership, Amogy will provide the ammonia-to-power system, whereas GreenHarvest as the power generation and distribution partner, will lead local integration. Zelestra begins commercial operation of 435 MWdc solar project in India

Zelestra has commenced commercial operations at the Gorbea solar plant in Rajasthan, India. The solar plant has a capacity of 435 MWdc and was delivered in under eight months. The project is backed by a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and will generate 755 GWh of clean energy annually. Furthermore, the project supported over 800 jobs during its construction phase.

wpd inks PPA for onshore wind project in Japan

wpd, in cooperation with GPSS Group, has signed a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with Nomura Real Estate Development Company Limited for the Higashi Izu Furusato onshore wind power project in Japan. The project is located in Shizuoka Prefecture, around 120 km southwest of Tokyo, on a coastal mountain ridge. The wind farm will have a capacity of 7.48 MW and scheduled to begin operations in May 2026.

Deep Wind Offshore secures license for offshore wind project in South Korea

Deep Wind Offshore’s Admiral Lee offshore wind project has secured its first electricity business license with an installed capacity of 345 MW. The license has been received from Korea’s Electricity Regulatory Commission under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE). ADB and GCF launch $200 million green financing programme in India

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has partnered with the Green Climate Fund (GCF) to launch the India Green Finance Facility (IGFF), supported by $200 million in concessional funding from GCF. The IGFF is ADB’s first collaboration with GCF in India. It will use blended finance to extend lines of credit to national development finance institutions (DFIs), which will be responsible for building and managing a pipeline of clean energy projects.

China launches 25 GWh battery energy storage auction 

China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) has launched an auction for 25 GWh of lithium-iron phosphate battery systems. The tender launched by CEEC is structured into three packages totalling 25 GWh. It covers systems with durations of one, two, and four hours. Package one consists of one-hour systems with a capacity of 3 GW/3 GWh. The bids for one-hour systems ranged from CNY 0.673 to CNY 0.89/Wh, with an average bid of CNY 0.7863/Wh.
