Clearway Energy Group has closed financing and started construction of the 650 MW Swan Energy Center in Bates County, Missouri. The project is backed by a 20-year power purchase agreement and is expected to begin commercial operations in 2028. Clearway secured financing for the $1.5 billion project through a bank consortium led by Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, DNB Bank ASA, and National Australia Bank Limited. Clearway Energy, Inc. will invest in the project once it begins commercial operations.

Earlier, in August 2026, the Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC) selected Clearway Energy Group to develop a wind project in Aroostook county. The wind project will have an installed capacity of 800 MW. Additionally, the commission has selected Avangrid to develop a high-voltage transmission line connecting the project to the New England grid.

In February 2026, Clearway Energy Group achieved financial close and commenced construction on the Spindle Energy Center, a 199 MW battery energy storage system project located in Weld County, Colorado. The project will deploy American-made Tesla battery systems with a two-hour duration, enabling storage of up to 398 MWh of dispatchable electricity. It represents a total investment of $261 million. The project is scheduled to achieve commercial operations in late 2026.
