DEME, through its joint venture Japan Offshore Marine (JOM), has secured a contract for the Oga-Katagami-Akita Offshore Wind project in Japan. The scope includes engineering services and vessel charter for the offshore installation of 21 wind turbines under a contract with Oga Katagami Akita Offshore Green Energy LLC and Penta-Ocean Construction.
Furthermore, JOM will install 21 Vestas V236-15 MW turbines for the project. Turbine installation will be carried out by the jack-up vessel Sea Challenger, which will operate under the Japanese flag. Offshore construction activities are expected to commence in the second half of 2027.
In September 2025, DEME, through its Taiwanese joint venture CDWE, won a contract for the Formosa 4 offshore wind farm in Taiwan. The scope includes transporting and installing 35 foundations and the offshore substation, along with carrying out scour protection works. Foundation installation is planned to begin in the first half of 2027, subject to the final investment decision.
