DESRI has achieved financial notice to proceed, and it has commenced construction of the Catclaw solar and storage project situated in Buckeye, Arizona. The Catclaw project is a 205 MWac solar facility with a 1,000 MWh storage system. DESRI purchased the project from Avantus in 2024.
Financing for the construction of the project was provided by several institutions. BNP Paribas and Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale served as coordinating lead arrangers. Korea Development Bank, Bank of China, and Westpac Banking Corporation acted as joint lead arrangers. Comerica Bank participated as the mandated lead arranger. Flagstar Bank served as the senior managing agent, while Crédit Industriel et Commercial acted as a participant. Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas acted as the administrative agent.
Additionally, RES will serve as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor. Tesla will provide battery storage equipment for the project, while Invenergy Services will provide ongoing operations and maintenance services once the facility is operational. The project has a 20-year power purchase agreement with APS.
