Ecoener has secured two 15-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) in Guatemala. These agreements pertain to the development of the 140 MWp Cocales and 60 MWp La Hulera solar plants, with both the projects expected to begin commercial operations in 2028. Both the projects will have battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The Cocales project will comprise a 20 MW/80 MWh BESS, whereas the La Hulera project will include a 10 MW/40 MWh BESS. The company secured the projects through a competitive international tender under the Guatemalan Government’s Power Generation Expansion Plan, with the tender receiving 51 bids for approximately 4,700 MW of installed capacity.
In February 2026, Ecoener began commercial operations of the Tamarindo 1 and 2 solar plants in Colombia. The projects, with a cumulative capacity of 23.8 MW and approximately 38,000 solar modules, have an estimated annual production of 47 GWh. Furthermore, the projects are expected to avoid approximately 7,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
