EDF Renewables has secured $10 million debt financing from the Mirova Gigaton Fund. The financing will support the company’s off-grid businesses in Africa under the EDF Energy For All platform. In Africa, EDF Renewables, through the EDF Energy For All platform and its subsidiaries, is providing off-grid energy solutions that help isolated rural communities gain access to reliable electricity.
Furthermore, through the financing, EDF Energy For All platform will support its subsidiaries focused on renewable energy solutions. The subsidiaries are Greeno, Kukhanya Energy Services, Tevia, UpOwa, and BBoxx-EDF.
Earlier in May 2025, TCL Solar and Grid Africa entered into a partnership to deploy distributed renewable energy solutions in Zimbabwe and Zambia. The collaboration aims to tap into emerging solar photovoltaic and battery storage technologies to strengthen regional energy security and drive economic growth.
