Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (Eurus Energy) has commenced commercial operation of the Ashikawa Wind Farm. The wind farm has a capacity of 128.8 MW and is situated in Toyotomi Town, Hokkaido. The Wind Farm is part of the Dohoku Wind Power Generation Project. This project will install 107 wind turbines across six wind farms in northern Hokkaido.
Dohoku Wind Farm LLC which is a group company of Eurus Energy has completed construction of the south section of this wind farm. Furthermore, this is the sixth wind farm following the Hamasato wind farm, the Kawaminami wind farm, the Kawanishi wind farm, the Kabaoka wind farm, and the Yuchi wind farm. The Dohoku Wind Power Generation Project has reached a total capacity of 434.5 MW with the start of commercial operations of the Ashikawa Wind Farm.
Additionally, this wind farm consists of 31 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy S.A. wind turbines with an output of 4.3 MW. To facilitate the development of large-scale wind farms in the Hokkaido region, Eurus Energy, along with its partner companies, established the North Hokkaido Wind Energy Transmission Corporation. All electricity generated from the Ashikawa Wind Farm will be supplied to Hokkaido Electric Power Network.
