Palisade Investment Partners and Aware Super Pty Ltd., as trustees of Aware Super, have agreed to acquire a 49 per cent stake in the 528 MW Stockyard Hill Wind Farm from Goldwind in Australia. The wind farm, which has 149 Goldwind turbines, was completed in September 2022. Reportedly, the National Electricity Market’s largest wind farm, Stockyard Hill, is claimed to have the potential to power 425,000 houses annually. Under a long-term offtake agreement, Origin Energy has purchased the large-scale generation certificates and the energy produced by the wind farm. According to the agreement, Goldwind will provide the wind farm operations and maintenance services. Financial close on the transaction is anticipated in January 2023. Through a special purpose vehicle, Palisade’s diversified infrastructure fund (PDIF) and Aware Super will co-invest in this acquisition (SPV).

Earlier this month, Fotowatio Renewable Ventures Australia (FRV Australia) reached financial close on the 300 MWac Walla Walla solar project in New South Wales.  FRV Australia has financing from ING, Clean Energy Finance Corporation, and Export Development Canada. FRV Australia is owned by Abdul Latif Jameel Energy and Canadian pension fund OMERS.
