METLEN has entered into a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with ENGIE for the supply of power from six solar projects across the UK. The total capacity of the solar portfolio under the agreement is 235 MW, expected to deliver over 233 GWh of renewable electricity annually. The supplied power will reportedly help offset more than 52,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

Further, the projects are being developed and implemented by METLEN’s M Renewables division, which specialises in solar and storage installations in the UK. Four solar projects are planned for completion by the end of 2025, with the remaining two scheduled to be commissioned in 2026. Furthermore, the projects form part of METLEN’s broader renewable expansion strategy in the European market.

Earlier this month, METLEN and Karatzis Group of Companies entered into a new partnership through a joint venture with ownership stakes of 49 per cent and 51 per cent, respectively. The partnership aims to develop, construct, operate, and manage a battery energy storage system with a capacity of 330 MW/790 MWh in Thessaly, Greece.
