Sembcorp Industries, through its wholly owned subsidiary Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited, has won a 300 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) – connected wind-solar hybrid power project from NTPC Limited. This project is part of NTPC’s 1.2 GW renewable energy bid and will be developed under a build-own-operate model.
The power generated from the project will be supplied to NTPC through a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA), which is yet to be finalised. Commercial operations are expected to begin within 24 months of the PPA’s execution. The project will be financed through a combination of internal resources and debt.
In October 2024, Sembcorp emerged as a winner to develop 300 MW in NTPC’s auction of 1.2 GW inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid projects, at a quoted tariff of Rs 3.29 per kWh.
