Energa Wytwarzanie, an Orlen Group affiliate, and Northland Power have launched Baltic Offshore Service Solution, a new firm that will deliver offshore wind services in Poland. The joint partnership will provide a range of services, including technical, operational, commercial, and contractual issues. It will also be responsible for operating the Orlen Group’s 24-hour wind farm management centre, which monitors, coordinates, and controls the company’s offshore assets.

The new organisation will be responsible for wind farm component maintenance, ensuring the technical efficiency and availability of power machinery and equipment, and conducting technical inspections. Energa Wytwarzanie’s expertise in managing onshore renewable energy assets, such as a portfolio of six wind farms with a combined capacity of 244 MW, will provide important learnings to Baltic Offshore Service Solution.

The action is a part of the wider Baltic Power offshore wind farm project, which is a collaboration between Northland and Orlen Group. By 2026, the project is anticipated to start generating 1.2 GW of clean energy.

REGlobal’s Views: The Baltic Sea is estimated to have more than 90 GW of offshore wind potential, and Poland is witnessing many big developments in this space. Recently, Vestas announced a blade factory in the country to cater to the growing offshore wind market. Meanwhile, there is also expected to be a growing demand for companies that provide tailored services including those related to O&M or contracts to developers of these projects.
