OX2, a Swedish renewable project developer, has signed an agreement with TMV Green to build 500 MW of onshore wind facilities in Estonia. For the wind facilities in the project portfolio, TMV Green will be responsible for land use, licensing, and grid connection. Since 2020, the company has been developing wind power projects in Estonia.
OX2 will finance, construct and implement the onshore wind facilities being developed with TMV Green. The projects that OX2 and TMV Green intend to pursue are currently in early phases of development. Reportedly, these projects will not be part of OX2’s project development portfolio. In addition, OX2 intends to extend its operations in Estonia by partnering with TMV Green.
In March 2022, a permit application was filed for the 5.5 GW Aurora Offshore Wind Farm in the Swedish Exclusive Economic Zone by OX2. The company applied to the County Administrative Board of Gotland for a Natura 200 authorization. The projected offshore wind plant, which would be located 20 km south of Gotland and 30 km east of Öland, would have up to 370 turbines. The wind farm would be able to produce a total of 24 TWh of renewable energy per year.
