Pine Gate Renewables and Meta have signed a renewable purchase agreement for a 210 MW solar energy project. The project, named Magnolia Solar, is located near Seguin, Texas. This marks the fourth collaboration between the two companies and expands Pine Gate’s portfolio of projects with Meta to over 500 MW of clean energy. Magnolia Solar is expected to begin commercial operations in 2026.

In June 2025, Meta signed four new agreements with Invenergy to procure 791 MW of solar and wind energy from facilities across the US, to support Meta’s data center expansion and clean energy goals. In the same month, Adapture Renewables executed two environmental attributes purchase agreements (EAPAs) with Meta which total 360 MW across two solar projects in Texas’s ERCOT region.

Prior to that, in March 2025, RWE and Meta inked a PPA for offtake of power from a 200 MW RWE’s Waterloo Solar project in Bastrop County in Texas. In January 2025, Meta signed four new EAPAs with Zelestra to support the construction four new solar power projects with a total capacity of 720 MWdc in Hopkins, Lamar, Lampasas, and Henderson Counties in the US state of Texas.

Pine Gate Renewables is a leading developer and owner-operator of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across US, founded in 2016 and headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina. The company operates more than 100 solar facilities with over 2 GW of installed capacity. Further, 30 GW of projects are under development.

REGlobal’s Views: Meta has been expanding its renewable energy procurement in the US, and Texas is an important state in this regard. The company will use this renewable energy to meet the requirements of its energy-intensive data center operations, as the company has a goal to meet its electricity usage with 100% renewable energy.
