Plug Power has inked a purchase agreement with Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) under which, Plug will supply 3 GW of electrolyser capacity for AGA’s green hydrogen to ammonia plant. This plant is currently under development in Australia. Furthermore, AGA will install a 4.5 GW solar plant in order to power these electrolysers using zero-emission clean electricity. The plant aims to produce approximately 2,700 metric tonnes of green ammonia daily.

Additionally, as part of this agreement, Plug will develop a Basic Engineering and Design Package (BEDP). This is expected to provide technical details and engineering specifications to attract investors and finalise financing. Upon achieving a positive final investment decision which is anticipated by the second quarter of 2025, Plug will begin manufacturing and delivering proton exchange embrane electrolysers from the first quarter of 2027.Earlier in October 2024, Plug Power collaborated with Carreras Grupo Logístico to launch a complete green hydrogen ecosystem in Spain. The initiative aims to establish a hydrogen-powered logistics site in Spain at Carreras Grupo Logístico’s logistics center in Masquefa, Barcelona.
