Power2X has announced the final investment decision (FID) for the Djewels green hydrogen project. The 20 MW project is located in Delfzijl, Groningen in the Netherlands. The project will be developed at the Chemical Park Delfzijl and is connected directly to Nobian’s industrial infrastructure.  The project will now enter the construction phase with first production expected in mid-2028.

The project is expected to produce around 2,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually for regional industrial customers. Rely, a joint venture between Technip Energies and John Cockerill, will oversee the engineering, procurement, and construction of the plant. The project will use pressurised alkaline electrolysis technology supplied by John Cockerill.

In February 2026, Power2X acquired HyCC, a Netherlands-based developer of large-scale green hydrogen projects, to strengthen its position in clean molecule development and industrial decarbonisation. HyCC brings a portfolio of hydrogen and clean molecule projects across key industrial hubs in the Netherlands and Germany, including Amsterdam, Delfzijl, and Rotterdam.
