Repsol has achieved commercial operations at its 825 MW Pinnington Solar project in Texas. The project was developed by Repsol, engineered and constructed by Black & Veatch and its Overland Contracting Inc. (OCI) construction subsidiary. The project includes 1.5 million solar panels and is expected to avoid approximately 1 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually. With the addition of this project and other operating solar assets, Repsol’s total renewable energy capacity in US now exceeds 2 GW.
In January 2026, Repsol planned to install a 100 MW electrolyser at the Petronor industrial complex in Muskiz in northern Spain. The project involves an investment of about €292 million and is scheduled for commissioning in 2029. It has been recognised by the European Commission as an Important Project of Common European Interest and will receive €160 million financial support from the Government of Spain through NextGenerationEU mechanism.
In October 2025, Repsol, in partnership with Enagas Renovable, approved the construction of a 100 MW electrolyser at its industrial complex in Cartagena, Spain. The project involves an investment of more than €300 million and has been recognised as a strategic initiative by the European Commission and Government of Spain under the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI).
