Atlas Renewable Energy secures financing for 128.8 MWdc Colombian solar project 

Atlas Renewable Energy, has closed the financing for the El Campano Solar project located in Córdoba, Colombia. The project will involve the construction and operation of a 128.8 MWdc solar plant. The financing structure for the project involved a loan of $77.6 million and a commercial credit facility of $15.5 million. Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional and BBVA CIB, acted as lenders and issuers of letters of credit.

Atlas Renewable Energy inks solar PPA in Colombia

Atlas Renewable Energy has entered into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with an unnamed Colombian energy trading company to support the development of the El Campano solar project in Colombia’s northern region. The solar plant is planned with an installed capacity of 128 MWp and is scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2027. It was awarded under Colombia’s 2024 Reliability Charge Auction.

Atlas Renewable Energy has secured a roughly BRL 1 billion ($179 million) financing package from Brazil’s National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). The financing is for the construction of the Draco Solar Complex, which is situated in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The solar complex will consist of 11 photovoltaic power plants with a combined installed capacity of 505 MWac.

Atlas Renewable Energy (Atlas) and Colbún have inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a battery energy storage system (BESS) project located in the Antofagasta Region, Chile. The project will have an installed capacity of 230 MW and a storage capacity of 920 MWh per day. This is a 15 year PPA and allows Atlas to build the BESS project and Colbún to acquire the project’s energy supply.

Engie Brasil to obtain 545 MW of solar parks from Atlas

Engie Brasil Energia SA has inked an agreement to purchase solar power plants in Brazil with an overall installed capacity of 545 MW from Atlas Renewable Energy. Reportedly, Engie will acquire Atlas Energia Renovavel do Brasil SA and Atlas Brasil Energia Holding 2 SA for about €618 million. The two targets possess five photovoltaic (PV) plants in the states of Bahia, Ceara, and Minas Gerais.

Albras signs agreement to purchase solar power from Atlas

Atlas Renewable Energy, a US renewable energy company, has reached a 21-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Brazilian aluminium producer Albras to supply solar power. Atlas will supply the energy from the 902 MWp Vista Alegre photovoltaic project in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. It is expected to begin operations in 2025 and will produce 2 TWh of clean electricity per annum.

Hydro Rein, Atlas RE and ALBRAS to set up a 438 MW solar project in Brazil

Hydro Rein, Atlas Renewable Energy, and ALBRAS will jointly develop, build, and operate a self-production 438 MW solar plant in Paracatú, Brazil. The plant will supply Albras’ primary aluminium plant with long-term renewable power. The proposed solar plant in Boa Sorte is scheduled to open  in the fourth quarter of 2023. The plant’s construction is scheduled to begin in the  fourth quarter of 2022. A total of $320 million is expected to be invested.
