Mauritania inks agreement for green hydrogen project

Mauritania has entered into a framework agreement with Möhring Energie Holding GmbH for the development of a large industrial plant aimed at producing green hydrogen and green ammonia. The agreement supports the implementation of Mauritania’s hydrogen programme known as the Hydrogen Code and initiates the NAYRAH project, which is planned to scale up to an electrolysis capacity of 1,000 MW.

Hynfra to develop green ammonia project in Mauritania

Hynfra has inked a framework agreement with the Government of Mauritania for the development of a green ammonia project in Nouakchott. The project is planned to produce 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually starting in 2030. The total capital expenditure for the project is expected to be $1.5 billion. The project will be located in the southern zone of the Somelec wind farm, with exports planned through Port de l’Amitié.

GreenGo Energy inks agreement for green hydrogen development in Mauritania

GreenGo Energy has inked an agreement for the development of a large-scale green hydrogen project in Mauritania. According to this agreement, GreenGo Energy will have access to more than 100,000 hectares of land near Nouakchott, Mauritania for the development of the Megaton Moon Green Hydrogen Project. With this agreement, GreenGo Energy has entered into the development phase of the project. The full capacity of the Megaton Moon project will include  6 GW of electrolysis, 6.8 GW of onshore wind, and 6.3 GWp of solar PV.

GreenGo files application for 60 GW green energy park in Mauritania

GreenGo Energy, a Danish clean energy developer has filed an application to the Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines in Mauritania for the development of Megaton Moon green energy park. Furthermore, Megaton Moon is planned for a staged implementation process closing the circular architecture to reach 60 GW/ 190 TWh of hybrid solar and wind generation and 35 GW electrolysis producing 4 million tons of green hydrogen yearly or further processed 18 million tons of green ammonia.

Mauritania signs agreements for up to 10 GW of green hydrogen

Infinity Power Holding and German project developer Conjuncta GmbH have signed an agreement with the government of Mauritania to build a green hydrogen plant northeast of the capital Nouakchott with a capacity of up to 10 GW. The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mauritania’s Ministry of Petroleum, Mines and Energy for the project.
