685 MWdc Faraday solar project begins operations in Utah

Excelsior Energy Capital has announced that the Faraday Solar project  has reached operational readiness and commenced commercial operations. The project has an installed capacity of 685.3 MWdc and is located in Utah County, Utah. It has a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with PacifiCorp. Meta will procure energy and environmental attributes from the project to provide clean energy to its operations in Utah.

ENGIE inks 15-year PPA with Apple in Italy

ENGIE has entered into a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Apple to expand its renewable energy operations in Italy. Under the agreement, ENGIE will develop two wind farms with a combined capacity of 74 MW, along with one 11 MW wind repowering project, and two agrivoltaic solar plants totalling 88 MW. All projects, located in southern Italy, have been authorised, and are scheduled to be operational between 2026 and 2027.

Jakson Green and Blueleaf Energy have secured financial close for their 840 MWp solar projects in Rajasthan, India. These projects are 280 MWp and 560 MWp ground-mounted solar plants, which form part of the 1 GWp Rajasthan solar portfolio. Furthermore, the portfolio is jointly owned by Blueleaf Energy and Jakson Green through its parent company, Jakson Limited.

ENGIE and Masdar win 1.5 GW solar project in Abu Dhabi

Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) has awarded the contract for the development of the 1.5 GWac Khazna solar project to ENGIE and Masdar. Following the contract, a power purchase agreement was signed between EWEC and the developers. Under the agreement, ENGIE and Masdar will design, finance, construct, and operate the plant near the Al Khazna area of Abu Dhabi.

Syria inks MoU and PPA for renewable energy projects

The Public Establishment for Transmission and Distribution of Electricity (PE-TDE) of Syria has signed a MoU with the Saudi companies Al-Harfi and Sakalko to develop solar and wind projects. These projects will have a cumulative capacity of up to 500 MW. Additionally, the PE-TDE signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Syrian-Turkish company Syrian-Turkish Energy Company to procure 100 MW of solar power.

Nama Power and Water Procurement has signed a power purchase agreement with a consortium for the development of the Ibri III Solar Independent Power Project in Oman. The project comprises a 500 MW utility-scale solar plant, integrated with a 100 MWh battery energy storage system. The consortium that will develop the project includes Masdar, OQ Alternative Energy, Al Khadra Partners, and Korea Midland Power Co. Ltd.

Capstone commissions 192 MW wind farm in Alberta

Capstone Infrastructure Corporation has announced the commissioning of 192 MW Wild Rose 2 Wind Farm located in Cypress County, Alberta. Capstone’s subsidiary Wild Rose 2 Wind Inc. constructed, owns, and operates the project. It is expected to offset about 250,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Capstone signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Pembina Pipeline for 105 MW of renewable energy and attributes.

500 MW South Korean offshore wind project secures offtakers

Taean Wind Power, a joint venture between Vena Energy and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), has signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) totalling 500 MW with Korea West Power and Gangneung Eco Power. The PPAs cover 300 MW with Korea West Power and 200 MW with Gangneung Eco Power. These contracts secure long-term offtake for electricity generated by the Taean offshore wind project.

Q ENERGY has secured debt financing for “Taurus B,” a portfolio of seven solar photovoltaic projects, located across three provinces in northern and southwestern Spain with a cumulative capacity of 251.71 MW. The financing was arranged by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and BNP Paribas. Scatec inks PPA for 130 MW solar plant in Colombia

Scatec has entered into a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with BTG Pactual Comercializadora de Energía, a Colombian energy trading subsidiary of Banco BTG Pactual S.A. Brazil. The agreement will secure about 85 per cent of the output from a 130 MW solar project, while the rest of it will be traded in Colombia’s electricity market. The project will be Scatec’s first in Colombia. The total capital expenditure is estimated at $110 million.

European Energy inks PPA with Amazon Australia for solar parks in Australia

European Energy has inked PPA with Amazon Australia to supply renewable electricity from solar parks in Australia. The agreement covers the Mokoan Solar Park and Winton North Solar Park in Victoria, as well as the Bullyard Solar Park in Queensland. The Mokoan Solar Park is already operational, while the Winton North Solar Park and Bullyard Solar Park are in the pre-construction procurement phase.
