Zambia’s Power Utility signs PPA for 500 MW solar project

ZESCO, Zambia’s national power utility, and Korea-based KS Eco Solutions Holdings Limited have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the development of a solar power project in Zambia. The project will have an installed capacity of 500 MW. The project supports the government’s strategy to increase private sector participation in the energy sector through ongoing reforms.

Globeleq launches 250 MW solar with 600 MWh storage project in Zambia

Globeleq has launched the Leopards Hill project which combines a 250 MWp solar PV with a 150 MW/600 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project, located near Lusaka, is being developed in partnership with Leopard Investment Company and will supply electricity to approximately 150,000 households annually. The project’s financial close is targeted by the end of 2026.
