The government of Togo has floated a tender to choose bidders for establishing and funding a 50 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic project. The project will be situated near Sokode.
The project will be implemented under the World Bank’s Scaling Solar program. This program is an initiative to support multiple low-income, fragile, and conflict-affected states to achieve energy security and sustainable low-carbon growth. The bids have to be submitted to the Togolese Agency for Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy by December 15, 2022.
Recently in July 2022, Scatec reached the financial closing for three renewable energy projects in Northern Cape province in South Africa. The three projects are located in Kenhardt and are expected to have a combined solar capacity of 540 MW and battery storage capacity of 225 MW/1,140 MWh. After this financial closure, Scatec will begin construction of the projects.
