Trina Storage has teamed up with inverter manufacturer Power Electronics to deploy more than 1 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects by the end of 2023. During the Intersolar Europe 2022 event, the two companies signed a letter of intent for a partnership. Reportedly, the BESS systems will incorporate Trina Storage’s Elementa technology, a modular BESS solution that claims to provide up to 25 per cent more cycles than competitors.
Furthermore, Trina Storage’s Elementa solution, which uses Power Electronics PCSK battery inverters, was introduced at the Intersolar Europe event. The company intends to deploy the technology in Europe before expanding into the US market. Solar inverters are manufactured by Power Electronics for photovoltaic (PV) plants in Europe, Oceania, Asia, and America. Its products are in almost 1,300 plants in 35 countries across the world. The company also has 60 GW of installed alternating current (AC) power, which it claims has prevented more than 70.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
In February 2022, Trina Solar announced that it has set up Trina Storage, a unit specialising in storage and smart energy solutions. The unit is designed to develop innovative solutions for various areas of application, including residential batteries, grid services, large-scale storage, and microgrids.
