Tyczka Hydrogen has acquired a hydrogen production, filling and refuelling facility located in Hünfeld-Michelsrombach, Germany. ABO Energy developed, constructed and operated the facility before the acquisition. The facility combines a 5 MW proton exchange membrane electrolyser, trailer filling station and a 350-bar hydrogen refuelling station. The project will add 400-600 tonnes of renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO)-certified green hydrogen production capacity annually to Tyczka Hydrogen’s portfolio.

Furthermore, the facility has been operational since 2025. The green hydrogen produced will be supplied directly to hydrogen-powered vehicles. The facility received €12 million in funding from Germany’s BMDV under the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology and also benefits from Germany’s Recovery and Resilience Plan through the EU’s NextGenerationEU programme.

In May 2026, Tyczka Hydrogen commissioned a green hydrogen refuelling station at the Port of Schweinfurt, Germany. The station can dispense up to 1,000 kg of round-the-clock hydrogen daily at 350 and 700 bars and will primarily hydrogen-powered vehicles. Tyczka is also developing a green hydrogen electrolyser and loading centre at the site, supported by €5 million in Bavarian government funding under the BayFELI programme.
