Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has signed an MoU with Ulsan City, its port authority, and Sejin Heavy Industries & Construction to collaborate on plans to create a 9 GW floating offshore wind complex by 2030. According to the provisions of the MoU, Vestas is expected to work with Ulsan authorities and Sejin to develop the necessary infrastructure for the project, including establishing a base for the manufacturing and export of offshore wind equipment.

Earlier this month, in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas planned to halt four Russian wind projects. Novoalekseevskaya, Grazhdanskaya, Ivanovskaya, and Pokrovskaya are the four projects now in the development phase. They have a total capacity of 253 MW. Vestas was selected for these projects by a partnership that included Gazprombank of Russia and Fortum of Finland. Since September 2021, the Danish firm is claimed to have been working on these four renewable energy projects.
