The Western Australia Government has agreed to purchase power from upcoming wind farms in regional Western Australia. Through a series of long-term power purchase agreements, Synergy will procure renewable energy from the 470 MW Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm, being developed by Zephyr Energy, and the 130 MW Kondinin Wind Farm, a joint venture between Shell Energy and Foresight Group. Both projects are expected to begin supplying electricity by late 2028.

Additionally, the Water Corporation will procure 330 MW of electricity from the 550 MW Marri Wind Farm being developed by Alinta Energy, which is expected to come online in 2029. Together, these agreements will provide over 1 GW of renewable capacity, surpassing the state government’s target of delivering 810 MW of wind power to replace Western Australia’s remaining coal-fired generation.

In October 2025, Neoen inaugurated the 412 MW Goyder South wind farm in South Australia. The wind farm supplies energy under three long-term power purchase agreements. These include a 14-year PPA for 100 MW with the Australian Capital Territory Government, a 10-year PPA for 40 MW with Flow Power and a 70 MW baseload renewable energy agreement with BHP.
