Alfa Solar and Astronergy Europe GmbH have entered into a joint venture (JV) agreement to establish an integrated wafer and cell production facility in Türkiye. The collaboration will be executed through Astronergy Yüksek Teknoloji Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., a company fully owned by Astronergy Europe and registered with the Istanbul Trade Registry.

Furthermore, the planned manufacturing facility will begin operations with an initial annual manufacturing capacity of 2.5 GW, starting from ingot slicing. The first phase of the project is expected to require an investment of around $200 million, and the facility is proposed to be developed on land allocated in the Balıkesir Organized Industrial Zone.

Once the share transfer and capital increase transactions are completed, Alfa Solar and Astronergy Europe will each hold a 50 per cent stake in the JV entity. The project is also expected to utilise support available under the High Technology Investment Programme (HİT-30) of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye. The implementation of the project will proceed following the necessary approvals and clearances from relevant authorities, including the Turkish Competition Authority.
