Hynfra to develop green ammonia project in Mauritania

Hynfra has inked a framework agreement with the Government of Mauritania for the development of a green ammonia project in Nouakchott. The project is planned to produce 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually starting in 2030. The total capital expenditure for the project is expected to be $1.5 billion. The project will be located in the southern zone of the Somelec wind farm, with exports planned through Port de l’Amitié.

RWE secures grant for Dutch electrolyser project

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has awarded a funding of €551 million to RWE for a 100 MW electrolysis project in Eemshaven. The project will be located near the Magnum power station in the northern part of the country. The funding has been provided under the Dutch government’s Sustainable Energy Production and Climate Transition Incentive Scheme.

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) and the Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government have signed a MoU to cooperate on green hydrogen development. The MoU aims to strengthen collaboration on green hydrogen from both environmental and economic perspectives. Moreover, it will focus on the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and information between the two agencies.

New York awards $11 million to clean hydrogen projects

New York has awarded more than $11 million to five clean hydrogen research and development (R&D) projects aimed at demonstrating newer technological designs, reducing costs in the storage and distribution of clean hydrogen, and deploying hydrogen-powered transportation. The projects have been funded through the New York state’s $6 billion Clean Energy Fund, which spans a 10-year period.

Sungrow Hydrogen plans electrolyser facility in Oman 

Sungrow Hydrogen has signed a MoU with United Engineering Services (UES) to explore the establishment of an electrolyser manufacturing facility in Oman. The proposed plant will also manufacture and assemble gas separation and purification systems, along with the associated supporting infrastructure. The planned manufacturing capacity has not been disclosed.

Record low bids in Indian green ammonia auction

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC) has won Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction to supply 70,000 tonnes per annum of green ammonia under the strategic interventions for green hydrogen transition (SIGHT) programme (Mode-2A, Tranche-I). The company secured the capacity at a tariff of $591 per metric tonnes (MT). Under the agreement, green ammonia will be supplied to Krishana Phoschem in Madhya Pradesh.

FRV and Envision to develop green ammonia project in Brazil

Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) has partnered with Envision to develop the H2 Cumbuco green ammonia project located at the Port of Pecém, Brazil. Envision has been selected for its expertise in integrated renewable energy systems, coordinated through AI-based technology. The H2 Cumbuco project will consist of an electrolysis plant of up to 500 MW capacity and an integrated ammonia plant.

Repsol acquires minority stake in Stargate Hydrogen

Repsol and Stargate Hydrogen have entered into an alliance in Spain. Repsol´s Corporate Venture arm has acquired a minority stake in Stargate Hydrogen’s share capital. The integration of Repsol as a partner will allow the company to boost its manufacturing capacity, speed up research and development initiatives, and strengthen its commercial operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The alliance aims to reduce the cost of renewable hydrogen production.

Amogy and GreenHarvest join forces for ammonia-to-power project in Taiwan

Amogy has partnered with GreenHarvest for the deployment of an ammonia-to-power system in Taiwan. Under this partnership, Amogy will provide the ammonia-to-power system, whereas GreenHarvest as the power generation and distribution partner, will lead local integration. Installation of the system is scheduled between late 2026 and early 2027. The installation will take place at a selected large industrial electricity consumer facility in Taiwan.

Dutch Government awards subsidy to eleven green hydrogen projects

Eleven winners have been selected in the recent green hydrogen auction conducted by the Dutch government to give subsidies for electrolysers. These subsidies are expected to reduce the price gap between grey and green hydrogen. The winning bidders, with a combined capacity of 602 MW, have to complete their projects by 2030. A total of nearly Euro 1 billion in subsidies was available for this second round of green hydrogen subsidies.

ACWA Power to export renewable energy and green hydrogen to Europe

ACWA Power has inked agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with international partners. The agreements aim to create a green hydrogen and renewable energy export value chain between Saudi Arabia and Europe. A multi-party MoU was signed by ACWA Power with several European companies. The companies included Italy’s Edison S.p.A. and Zhero Europe B.V., France’s TotalEnergies Renewables SAS, and Germany’s  EnBW.

The parties intend to implement a Green Energy Complex in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The investment in the project may reach up to $3.1 billion. The project includes the construction of wind and solar power plants with a total capacity of up to 2 GW.

Abraxas inks agreement for 100 MW renewable energy project in Maldives

APM SPV, the subsidiary of Abraxas Power, has inked an investment agreement with the Government of Maldives. The agreement is for the development of Project Solar City, which is a 100 MW mixed-use renewable energy project in Maldives. The execution of the investment agreement was followed by the President of Maldives issuing a presidential decree designating the project area as a Special Economic Zone under the country’s Special Economic Zone Act.

The World Bank has approved an operation to support the green hydrogen strategy of Pecém Industrial and Port Complex Company (CIPP) and the Government of Ceará. CIPP is located in Ceará, in Northeastern Brazil, and is an industrial and logistics hub. It is also a leading location for the development of a hydrogen hub in Brazil. The initiative will enable the production of clean hydrogen in the Complex of Pecém.

Hynamics UK and Hy24 join forces to develop green hydrogen project in UK

Hynamics UK and Hy24 have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop and pursue funding of the Fawley green hydrogen project. The project was shortlisted in the UK government’s HAR2 subsidy scheme. Furthermore, the MoU also represents the start of negotiations with Hy24, through its Clean Hydrogen Infrastructure Fund, to develop and finance a €300 million hydrogen electrolytic production facility in Fawley.

Nordic Hydrogen Route Project secures €29.4 million EU funding

The Nordic Hydrogen Route project, which is planned between northern Sweden and Finland, was awarded €29.4 million in support under the Connecting Europe Facility programme for Energy by the European Union earlier in 2025. The project partners, Gasgrid Finland, and Nordion Energi, following negotiations, have now inked the official grant agreement with CINEA which enables execution of the ongoing feasibility study phase.

ARENA awards AUD 432 million to Orica’s renewable hydrogen project

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has awarded up to AUD 432 million in grant funding to Orica’s Hunter Valley hydrogen hub. The hydrogen hub will receive the funding as the second recipient of ARENA’s Hydrogen Headstart Program. The hub will produce renewable hydrogen using a 50 MW electrolyser powered by renewable electricity. Furthermore, the hydrogen produced will replace natural gas in Orica’s ammonia production process.
