Iberdrola to supply solar power to Danone through the Francisco Pizarro project

Iberdrola, a Spanish power developer has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Danone, a French food company. As per the ten-year agreement, Iberdrola will supply of 73 GWh of power annually from the Francisco Pizarro plant. With this agreement, the entirety of the renewable electricity used in Danone’s plants and factories in Spain will come from this solar project.

Lightsource BP to install 467 MW of solar capacity in Brazil

Lightsource BP has announced its plans to develop 467 MW of solar photovoltaic projects in Brazil’s Ceara state. The company has met with the state’s economic development and labour secretary to finalise the project which will be developed with an investment of $261.3 million. Under the plan, Lightsource BP will develop two solar plants in the countryside of the state. This includes a 202 MW plant in Milagres and a 265 MW solar farm in Ico.

Lightsource BP acquires 1.06 GW of solar projects in Spain

Lightsource BP has announced the acquisition of a portfolio consisting of 1.06 GW of solar projects in Spain from RIC Energy. Additionally, the sales agreement specifies a partnership with RIC Energy to develop solar projects in 14 sites across Madrid, Andalusia, and Castile and Leon. The first batch of projects is projected to reach ready-to-build status by the end of 2021 and be commissioned between 2022 and 2025.

Duke Energy and Firestone Walker Brewing Company have completed one of the largest on-site solar arrays in the craft beer industry: a 2.1 MW solar array and 281 kWsolar carport on 9.7 acres in Paso Robles, Calif. REC Solar designed and built the solar project, and Duke Energy Renewables provided Firestone Walker financing through a 25-year power purchase agreement.

Daystar raises $38 million to expand footprint in West Africa

Nigeran off-grid solar company, Daystar Power has closed a $38-million Series B financing round led by Denmark’s Investment Fund for Developing Countries. In addition to the Danish Impact Investor, the deal was supported by French impact infrastructure fund STOA, development finance institution Proparco and Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Daystar Power has now raised a total $48 million includind funds raised in the previous round.
