Atmos Renewables acquires 316 MW Australian wind farm from Neoen

Atmos Renewables has acquired a majority stake in the 316 MW Hornsdale wind farm in South Australia from Neoen.The company previously held minority interests across the three stages of the project and will assume full ownership and control following the transaction. Reportedly, the settlement is expected in the latter half of 2025, subject to customary conditions precedent. The wind farm has been operational since 2017.

Vestas bags 274 MW wind order in Canada

Vestas has received a 274 MW order from EDF Power Solutions North America for the Madawaska wind project in Québec, Canada. The order includes the supply of 25 EnVentus V162-6.0 MW wind turbines and 20 EnVentus V162-6.2 MW wind turbines. Furthermore, the agreement covers a 10-year active output management 5000 service contract. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.

Europe approves €11 billion French offshore wind scheme

US rescinds designated areas for offshore wind development

The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has rescinded all designated wind energy areas (WEAs) on the US Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). Scotland grants consent for 4.1 GW Berwick Bank offshore wind project

The Scottish Government has granted consent for the 4.1 GW Berwick Bank offshore wind project, located approximately 38 km off the Scottish Borders coastline. ESB and EDF’s Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm commences operation in Scotland

Scotland’s Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore wind farm, co-owned by EDF power solutions UK and Ireland (EDF) and ESB, has become fully operational. Located 15.5 km off the coast of Fife, the wind farm has 54 wind turbines now generating up to 450 MW of clean and green electricity. The electricity generated from the project will be sufficient to power around 375,000 homes, and will offset over 400,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.

bp has agreed to sell its US onshore wind business, bp Wind Energy to LS Power. bp Wind Energy, following the close, will be owned and operated as a part of LS Power portfolio company Clearlight Energy, thereby increasing its operating fleet to around 4.3 GW. wpd inks PPA for onshore wind project in Japan

wpd, in cooperation with GPSS Group, has signed a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with Nomura Real Estate Development Company Limited for the Higashi Izu Furusato onshore wind power project in Japan. The project is located in Shizuoka Prefecture, around 120 km southwest of Tokyo, on a coastal mountain ridge. The wind farm will have a capacity of 7.48 MW and scheduled to begin operations in May 2026.
