ContourGlobal has commissioned the Quillagua plant, located in the municipality of Maria Elena, in the Antofagasta region of Chile. This is a 221 MWp photovoltaic solar plant with a 1.2 GWh battery storage system. Quillagua has the potential to deliver 200 MW of power for 6.2 hours after sunset.
Furthermore, the Quillagua plant is a part of a larger development, which includes another project, the Victor Jara plant in the Tarapacá region. This is a 231 MWp photovoltaic solar energy plant along with 1.3 GWh of battery storage. The two projects in total have 452 MWp solar and 2.5 GWh of battery storage capacity. Additionally, ContourGlobal acquired these projects from Grenergy at the end of 2024.
Earlier in January 2025, ContourGlobal acquired a solar plus storage project in US. The project was in its advanced stage and will be developed in two phases. It will feature a combined capacity of 567 MWp of solar PV and 321 MW/1.3 GWh of BESS. Once completed, it will provide a total hybrid capacity of 888 MW.
